Artwork With Lines And Shapes

Students will larn about lines as they create a colorful motion picture using a diversity of lines.

Learning Objectives:

To introduce students to the names of dissimilar kinds of lines.
To innovate students to the vocabulary words: horizontal, vertical, and diagonal.
To give students the opportunity to paint with many colors within the boundaries of the lines they create.

What Y'all Need:

Newspaper 12″ x 18″
Oil Pastels
Tempera Pigment (cakes or lique
Line Diverseness Handout

What You Practice:

Talk almost the different kinds of lines – straight, angled, curly, etc. (come across diagram)

Innovate the words horizontal (when a line runs side to side, like the horizon), vertical (when a line runs up and down) and diagonal (when a line runs on an bending).

Have the students draw dissimilar types of lines on their papers using oil pastels. Exercise this by maxim out loud the blazon of line and the direction to draw the line.

When each line is complete, ask the children to switch to a new color to get ready for the next line.

Once the lines have been fatigued, children fill in the spaces between the lines using brightly colored tempera paints.
