I take iii references, all of whom I have an email address. But only one of them I have a phone number for? Would it be OK to just not list any phone numbers for my references, or list the other two and the tertiary one with a phone number? Lots of people do non like giving their phone number. And so this seems perfectly reasonable to me. I know that I personally, wouldn't give my telephone number to someone else merely would be ok with giving my electronic mail.

Too, if they take fix admission to one or two of 3 concluding candidates' references and yours will take a additional fourth dimension to process since you gave out email addresses, you lot take the chance the person in HR will simply discount your candidacy in favor of finalist candidate(s) with easy access references. Sending out reference checks past electronic mail could have your potential employer waiting all week for a reply. Plus, at that place is no way to crash-land the process along if they only accept an e-mail address. In the meantime, competitors with phone numbers fastened to their references will be further forth in the process. Take some more faith in the people you are going to be a reference to, their task depends on how you answer the reference questions. They aren't selling the number online.... And most reasonable people ask before they requite your number out as a reference then you are prepared for the call. Enquire who the company is, if you don't want a random recruiter to have information technology.

If you have their electronic mail addresses and they have canonical you to use them as a reference, then email them and get their full contact info. Employers are not going to mess around emailing people if that is not their standard practice or choice for checking references.

I agree. Y'all adventure losing thr position if Hour or a groundwork company deceit brand contact with your references. If your similar/trust someone is interim as your reference one 2 infinitesimal phone call to help y'all get a chore should not exist an a inconvenience for them. reach out to them and go those numbers.

For my electric current job I listed the phone number and email address for all my references and the government agency only contacted my references by email because it was a form they needed to complete and electronic mail back to the person in charge of hiring. If the application just asks for emails apply that. If it asks for telephone numbers and y'all don't provide them count on beingness passed over (and rightfully and so) for not post-obit directions.
